Boating

The Marlborough Sounds are an absolutely unique "inshore" New Zealand water way. If you own your own boat there is fishing, water sports, picnicking, and the opportunity to visit some of the Eating and coffee cafes only accessible by water.

Walks

The Queen Charlotte Walk way, 50+ kilometres of tracks through bays, along ridges winding through NZ native forests, and punctuated by accommodation opportunities if you want to stop over . You can use the Sports Resort and take a Beachcomber Cruise and do a day walk returning to the Sports Resort in the evening if you wish.

Cycling

We have Racing Bikes available if you would like to a ride on The Queen Charlotte Drive through to Anakiwa. We can ride with you or you can freedom ride. There are some wonderful mountain Bike tracks in the hills and we can direct you to these. We have a mountain Bike available or you may wish to hire them.

Golf

A superb holiday 9 hole Course is located 10 minutes by car from the Sports Resort. A competition 18 hole Course is 30 minutes drive. We have Clubs available.

Wineries

Some of NZs best Winemakers and Vineyards are located 30 minutes from The Sports Resort and we can give you detailed maps of where to find them.

Top of The South Island

Nelson is 2 hours drive from Waikawa Bay and Rental Cars are available locally to give you a look a the top of the South Island.

If you want a personalized Boat excursion on the Sound by arrangement this is available. A special is a trip to the fantastic Lochmara Lodge and is a 2 hour trip that includes coffee or lunch and a walk through there amazing wild life and art haven.

In Picton

The mini Golf Course and play area is a must for children, along with the aquarium and museum. There are 25 different resturants and bars in Picton and many of them deserve a visit.
